The Princess Pinky Foundation is a full service agency that provides support to survivors of domestic violence. We will help clients file paperwork with the police, court, assist with relocation, childcare, shelter, medical, and psychological assistance.
A few years a ago, I had a coworker that had done everything right though the courts relating to her volatile marriage. She had an Order of Protection and made sure that she did not go and see her estranged husband alone. When she went back to court, she stated that she was afraid of her husband because he had a lot of weapons. The husband laughed and told the judge that he had sold them the day before.
The next day, my coworker and her brother went to pick up her child and her belongings. They did not go into the home. The husband came outside and killed the brother and dragged my coworker in the house. He had already killed their child. He then killed my coworker and set her on fire. He then killed himself.
Now this coworker and I weren't friends. We would only see each other in management meetings. But her story pierced me to the core. It also occurred at the same time that a family member found herself in an abusive marriage. It made me realize that we need supportive services for working people in domestic violence situations.
Knowing where to start can cause as much anxiety as the domestic violence incident itself. Staff at the Princess Pinky Foundation will be with you every step of the way. Clients must be gainfully employed and denied services through other government agencies. Clients are eligible to receive up $4,000 in assistance. Clients are asked to payback the assistance in order to pay it forward to other survivors. Services can only be used once in a two year period.
Introducing the Inmate Reintegration Services. We offer up $200 for inmates released into a halfway house or longterm drug rehab program. The purpose is to restore dignity to people by providing a bus pass, basic clothing necessities to help find work, and funds to get proper identification for work.
Staff will transport the recipient to purchase the items or obtain a list and purchase the items for the client. Clients will not receive cash for this service.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions. Your generous donation will fund our mission to help survivors of domestic violence, "Get Out & Stay Out"!
